    Re: Elections BC, General Election

    I am a libertarian and I vote pro-life.

A fetus/baby has unique DNA separate from that of the mother and is an individual unto himself/herself. Control of one over another (such as with the historic "right to own slaves") nor the denial of the birthright of any person should be condoned (eg. feticide, genocide, gendercide, infanticide, eugenics). Freedom is a human right and equality begins at conception. Abortion kills a human being. Abortion denies a lifetime of choices for that person, therefore in reality is the ultimate anti-choice for the victim and supreme control over another person. Pro-life philosophy is, in effect, pro-choice especially where equality and rights to life for unborn persons are defended.

Are you a pro-life candidate? Do you support the human right to life? Do you support the protection of girls from gendercide in BC?

    1. Good morning Taylor,

Thank you for your question, and the opportunity to respond.

John Cummins has said on a number of occasions, and I agree with this position, that we will not govern and create policy with regards to social / moral issues such as abortion, same sex marriage, etc.

The BC Conservatives are a big tent party, and just like every other political party in BC we have members that are pro-life and members that are pro-choice. As well, we have members that support same-sex marriage and other who do not.

We do not, and will not, have any formal policy / platform planks one way or the other on these issues.

      Sincerely
      Peter Sharp
